I am originally a Texas gal, but moved out to sunny SoCal for orthodontic residency where I met my wonderful husband Nick, who’s a physician at Kaiser. When not practicing orthodontics, I love going to the beach, exploring new restaurants in LA, snow boarding and traveling to new places.

Common problems in orthodontics
Orthodontics can benefit a patient as early as the age of 7 and well into adulthood. Orthodontic treatment can help correct and improve skeletal asymmetries, bite problems, severely crowded teeth. With orthodontic treatment, the alignment of teeth and the bite will not only be esthetically improved, but most importantly, play part in improving overall dental health.
Here are some of the common conditions treated with orthodontics:
Skeletal asymmetry – Sometimes the jaw may not be growing in the right direction. Early diagnosis and treatment can correct the skeletal position, possibly avoiding the need for surgery at a later time.
Bite problems – Bite problems such as overbite, underbite, crossbite and teeth not coming together properly can all be corrected with orthodontics.
Crowding and spacing – Crowding or spacing are common orthodontic problems. These problems can occur for many reasons and can be corrected with the proper orthodontic appliances.
Aesthetic problems – A beautiful straight smile may be marred by a single misaligned tooth. This tooth can be realigned with orthodontic appliances.
Our Serivces
Some common orthodontic appliances that are used in our practice are listed below. Feel free to ask questions about any of these treatments.
Fixed orthodontic braces – A metal or ceramic bracket is placed on each tooth, and a wire is inserted through each bracket. When the desired results are achieved, the fixed dental braces are completely removed.
Skeletal Appliances – There are a few orthodontic appliances that we use in our practice. These appliance are used to correct crossbites, severe overbites or underbites, preventing the possible need for future extractions or surgery.
Invisalign – A series of clear, plastic aligners that gradually position your teeth and bite in the right position.
